Hanover, MA – April 3, 2023 - Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation, Inc. has announced the return of its Racial Equity Grant Program. First launched in 2021, the Racial Equity Grant Program funded efforts to advance racial equity for 45 local organizations. This year, the Foundation is looking to deepen its level of impact by offering one-time grants of up to $15,000 to several area nonprofits to support internal organizational or external community-focused diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) projects.
“Our local non-profits are fueled by a passion to make a meaningful difference in our communities,” said Andrea Borowiecki, Vice President of Charitable Giving & Community Engagement at Rockland Trust. “We’re honored to help fund the important DE&I work these organizations are doing, or wish to do, to better understand and appreciate the diverse needs of the colleagues, clients, and communities they serve.”
Nonprofits in good standing with the IRS, recognized as 501(c)(3) Public Charities within Rockland Trust's footprint are eligible to apply. Organizations may request funding for new racial equity initiatives or further existing work within their nonprofit or community. Examples of suitable project(s) under this grant program may include:
Organizations that currently receive support from Rockland Trust or the Rockland Trust Charitable Foundation are eligible to apply to this initiative without impacting other funding applications. The Racial Equity Grant program application will be online at RocklandTrust.com/RacialEquityGrants beginning April 3rd, 2023. The deadline for applications is May 3rd, 2023, by 5 pm EST, and grantees will be notified in June.
