Hanover, MA – December 18, 2024 - In 1907, a group of small business owners came together to establish a bank focused on supporting small businesses. Now, more than 117 years later, Rockland Trust continues to uphold this mission. This month, the Bank was recognized by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Massachusetts District Office as the top SBA 7(a) Lender of the Year in Massachusetts based on total loan amount.
During the 2024 federal fiscal year, Rockland Trust proudly provided 125 loans totaling over $43 million. In addition, the Bank was recognized as the Most Active Lender to Rural Counties for SBA 7(a) loans.
“Our continued focus on providing the advice and resources small businesses need to grow within our local communities has always been our driving force” said Jeffrey Hansel, First Vice President and SBA Market Executive at Rockland Trust. “These recognitions are a testament to the work we continue to do to strengthen our neighborhoods and build life-long business relationships.”
The SBA assists small businesses in obtaining funding, making it easier for them to expand. The 7(a) program offers loans to support working capital, asset acquisition, refinancing, and business purchases.
